ABOUT ME

A smiling young woman with long blonde hair, wearing a sleeveless navy blue top with teal and white stripes, outdoors with green foliage in the background.

I am a seasoned Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned my Bachelor of Social Work from the University of North Texas in 2006 and my Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2009. I received my LMSW in 2010 and my LCSW in 2016.

My diverse background within CPS, private foster care, and both medical and psychiatric hospitals, broadened my understanding of individuals from all walks of life. When I transitioned to outpatient counseling in 2014, I knew I found my calling and have been dedicated to my therapeutic clients ever since.

I have experience working with all populations, age six and up, individually and as a family unit. I have been privileged to see a wide range of concerns within my practice and have found that I really connect with my nuerodivergent and LGBTQIA+ clients. I am passionate about keeping an affirming space, free of judgements.

I specialize in women’s issues and trauma and am certified in two trauma modalities, Accelerated Resolution Therapy and Trauma-Focused CBT. I often combine these approaches with DBT mindfulness skills for a truly eclectic approach. No two people have the same life experiences or therapeutic needs so I prefer to collaborate with each client to define their strengths and build upon them for success.

I have also started my writing journey for both children’s books and journals. I feel our youngest generations would greatly benefit from learning how to regulate their emotions from an early age and am so excited to create the stories to help them do just that. I further feel that as people hit life’s biggest milestones, they would benefit from unique journals filled with photos and emotion excerpts to better capture these memorable moments.

My grandmother had a saying that has helped define my life and career, “I love who you are.” Every person is unique and my role is to help you discover and embrace the authentic person you’re meant to be.

Why see a Social worker?

1. You Want a Broader, Systems-Based Approach

LCSWs are trained to view problems in a social and environmental context (e.g., poverty, discrimination, trauma, family systems), not just as internal issues. This can be valuable if your challenges are connected to real-world stressors or social systems.

2. You Need Support Beyond Therapy

LCSWs are trained in case management, advocacy, and connecting clients to community resources. This is especially helpful if your mental health needs overlap with social or systemic issues.

3. You’re Coping with Trauma or Complex Family Dynamics

LCSWs specialize in trauma-informed care and understand how family and community systems influence mental health. This approach tends to be relational and contextual, which can help with deep-rooted issues.

4. You Prefer a Holistic, Strengths-Based Model

LCSWs use strengths-based, client-centered models, which emphasize resilience and empowerment alongside symptom reduction.

Bottom Line:

Choose an LCSW if you:

  • Need therapy plus help navigating life systems (e.g., school, legal, medical, housing).

  • Want a therapist who can contextualize your struggles within larger social or family systems.

  • Value a social justice or trauma-informed lens.
